This is truly a dream come true. I’m so proud of this book and the effort to get here. Alana McCarthy, the illustrator, brought this story to life with her stunning artwork. It’s so beautiful in person (see below!) and I hope it inspires magical and snuggly moments with any kids in your life.

Speaking of magical moments, when I took some glamour shots of the book, fireflies happened to be out and about in our yard. One in particular gave me a present….she lit up right above the book!! (See top right):

Life is a bit hectic right now with the book release, and a really fun home renovation (are they ever fun?). We are remodeling our master bathroom after the plumbing in it completely died last year at the height of the pandemic. Shortly after, the whole house plumbing also died, sewage backed up into the house and forced us to replace our entire sewer line. It’s been quite a year! Ups and downs, pandemic stress, broken pipes, literal and figurative sh*t, all while managing a baby and a small child. BUT…we are reminded how much we can handle, we remain eternally grateful, and we know there is always light at the end of the tunnel. In this case….the light of a determined little Firefly. 🙂
