Music Release Day!!!

Kat Rees drops new children’s music EP, “Nature Soup”

CRANFORD, NJ – Almost a decade after her debut soul-pop album, singer/songwriter/author Kat Rees has released her sophomore EP, this time for the kiddos!

“Nature Soup” is 4 tracks of fun, wholesome, nature-themed music for kids that won’t make parents want to punch a unicorn. (Though she makes no guarantees).

The title track kicks things off with upbeat energy, an ear-worm melody, a jazzy trumpet, and a hint of folk. A sweet, ukulele-filled cover of “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” follows because kids should know about classic rock. “Calm Thoughts” is next, and its soothing harmonies and gentle flute playing will make everyone feel like they took at least 1 milligram of melatonin.

The final track is an audio rendition of Kat’s award-winning picture book, “A Firefly’s Journey” (published 2021).

This EP was inspired by Kat’s children, who served as co-writers, and whose soggy rain boots grace the album cover. Kat’s husband, Chris D’Ambola, plays guitar and ukulele throughout the record, making this truly a “family music” project.

“Nature Soup” was recorded and produced at The Party Farm; a beautiful boutique production studio nestled in the Catskill Mountains in New York.

Now streaming on all major platforms!

I read your article in the Cranford Patch as I my family owns the Cranford Barber Shop!
I am also a musician and wrote some Kids birthday songs which I could share and add to your Nature Soup EP. I will message you through Instagram with more info and hope to see you around town.
